Research collaboration

HOLINGER is a project partner in a Service Water research project that is being led by the Technical University of Munich. The goal is to develop strategies for reusing water for urban watering and agricultural irrigation. The required water quality is provided by multi-barrier treatment processes that can be ramped up at short notice. HOLINGER will develop recommendations for permit processes, define quality requirements for different irrigation practices, and develop cloud-based real-time approaches to assess demands. In addition, engineering solutions are being developed to build a large-scale plant.

Our tasks

  • Action plan for transferring the research findings to other potential locations
  • Scaling the pilot for a large-scale plant
  • Implementation of large-scale technology at Schweinfurt WWTP
  • Cost estimate for the assesment of the financial and environmental impacts
