Clean drinking water for the city of Bihac
Two springs, Klokot and Privilica, supply the city of Bihać with drinking water. The catchment area spans 1,000 km2 and two countries: 10% is in Bosnia-Herzegovina and 90% is in Croatia. HOLINGER prepared a study for the World Bank with recommendations for maintaining drinking water quality in the karst area. In addition to identifying negative environmental influences, HOLINGER assessed the quality of the groundwater in the protection zones, the legal framework and measures to maintain good drinking water quality for the 60,000 inhabitants of Bihać.
