New lake water treatment plant, Ai Ronchi: Final planning
12.12.2022
The final design of the new Ai Ronchi drinking water station was completed and in August 2022 and handed over to the client – the Acquedotto Regionale del Mendrisiotto (ARM) consortium.
The project provides for the treatment of water from Lake Lugano via 2 independent, parallel lines, the stages of which are: collection from the lake, ozonisation, filtration on GAC, medium pumping station, pre-filtration, ultrafiltration, storage of treated water and feeding into the network. The plant will be able to treat up to 900 m³/h, with a maximum daily production of 19'000 m³, and will supply the entire Mendrisiotto region with about 50'000 inhabitants. The new plant building has five stories, with three floors above ground level and two below.
HOLINGER is leading the planning consortium and is responsible for the coordination of the planners as well as for the electromechanical, process engineering and civil engineering parts. The estimated investment is around 25 million Swiss francs. The main contracts will be awarded during 2023 so that work can begin in autumn 2023.
The entire project was developed in a BIM environment and the final project developed in BIM can be viewed at this link https://vimeo.com/749107355
