Sensetal WWTP (BE) - Groundbreaking ceremony for new MP stage

21.02.2023

On 14th February 2023, we celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the new micro pollutants stage at the Sensetal wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Laupen/BE. Over the next 2 years, a granulated activated carbon filter system with 10 filter cells will be built to eliminate micropollutants from the treated wastewater. The new building will be 47 m long and 7 m high and will be located on free space at the WWTP. This industrial land usage will be compensated by natural landscaping of several other areas and the entire roof will be equipped with photovoltaics. The 18 million CHF investment is being largely subsidized by the federal fund for the elimination of micropollutants. HOLINGER AG is responsible for the overall project management, process engineering and civil engineering.
