Conservation of Aare river at Trimbach and Winznau

The banks of the Aare river in Olten, Trimbach and Winznau, had been eroded and washed out in places and needed securing. Wooden casings made of tree trunks and rocks now support the river banks. The root systems of newly planted trees will help to stabilise the banks in future. Further engineering and biological measures were undertaken during the project area, such as structuring the banks and promoting aquatic life with felled trees (Raubäume) and the river bed with root trunks. HOLINGER carried out the work from a pontoon.
